Aszu 2017
Aszú is the top natural sweet wine category in Hungary – a wine style that has been made for hundreds of years. Aszú wines are rich in complexity, amazingly balanced, and burst from flavor in your glass. Aszú wines are made from grapes that have been affected by botrytis (noble rot) and because they need a perfect combination of soil, grape and weather, they are only made in specific harvests. Every single grape is hand-picked at the perfect time; the sweetness of the grape and acidity of the soil balance each other out to create a truly unique wine.
Our first Aszú, the cornerstone of our estate. This wine packs layers and layers of depth and flavor. 19 months of barrel aging, 233 grams/liter of residual sugar, with a fantastic balance of its acidity, showing generous notes of mango, dried apricot, orange zest and quince. To taste, it is incredibly luscious and velvety, yet fresh and graceful.
